A Letter to our Fourth Baby
Our sweet, sweet baby. Our fourth child– our third boy. I’m two days away from holding you in my arms, and I’m just so overjoyed to be so close to this moment. It feels like I’ve been pregnant for so long, but it also feels like these weeks have flown by so fast.
You’re going to join a family that already has so much going on. It is rarely quiet in here. Your siblings are full of love and adventure. We can’t wait to see them interact with you. I thought I would take a few moments to document your journey so far.
Truth be told, we never pictured having four kids. Two- absolutely. Three? maybe. Four- um, WOW. Even after growing older, even with our largest age gap, even with three prior c-sections (and a rough third one), even with the bedrooms already full and the cars packed to the brim- you were missing. God showed me that. I don’t take this for granted. I am so blessed to be your mom.

Learning about you…
We found out about you first thing on Thanksgiving morning, 2025. You are so, so wanted. I tested too early (as usual!) and got negatives until that morning. What a beautiful thing to be thankful for- our first signs of you. Praise God. We told our youngest he was going to be a big brother. It was so special. I can’t believe this year, you’ll be here for Thanksgiving.

I was so nauseous. It was actually my most difficult first trimester out of the four pregnancies. I experienced bleeding in pregnancy for the first time and found out I had two subchorionic hematomas. I was scared to lose you. I praise God for getting me through that first trimester! Soon enough, we were okay, buddy!
We found out you were a boy. I was shocked. I had planned for a girl. But you know what is so great about our God? His plan is perfect and always good. He chose me to be your mama, and I am so, so glad He did.

Trips You’ve Already Taken…
Your daddy and I had a trip to Paris booked to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary. You were on a 7-hour flight with us. We danced next to the Eiffel Tower with you in my belly at just 5 weeks pregnant. I joked with daddy about a month later that it was a good thing I wasn’t further along during that trip- because I was able to fully enjoy all the food before I got nauseous! We bought you your first-ever stuffy – a little rabbit rattle at a cute shop in Paris. Your big bro is holding it for now!

Guess what? You went on a plane TWO more times. This time, a much shorter flight! You went to Disney World- TWICE- in the womb. You joined mommy on a girls’ trip. This was actually supposed to be for a 10k run, but two out of the four of us were pregnant. So we just hung out at the parks instead! I’d choose you over a run any day <3
I had so much fun there, I immediately came home and asked Daddy if we could take the kids to Disney. He is an incredible daddy (you’ll find that out soon!), so he said yes. We took your siblings a month later. You have actually been on a lot of rides already- though I’m not sure how much you liked it! We’ve already booked Disney again for next year with you- this time on the outside!

Your Siblings
You are so blessed to have three big siblings!

Your sister, your oldest sibling, is so excited to help take care of you. She is so sweet, creative, and caring. She loves to read, and she can’t wait to read to you. She loves you so much already, and is practicing holding you and feeding you with her dolls. I have a feeling you two are going to have a really special bond. Guess what else? She named you. Yep. Mommy was set on a name already- and your sister came home from church one day after hearing a Bible story and was adamant about changing your name. We slept on it, and needless to say- it was a done deal.
Your oldest brother is a lover and a cuddler. He has been really trying to take care of mommy during this pregnancy. He is always trying to make sure I’m comfortable, getting me a snack, or bringing me little flowers from the yard. He’s always helping us out around the house and trying to help Daddy with projects. He is going to teach you a whole lot! He has a big sweet tooth. I know he’ll be sneaking you treats and protecting you. He loves being outside and playing T-ball.
Your other brother is so fun and silly. He is always making us laugh. He loves any type of vehicle – cars, trains and planes. I already can see him showing you all of his toys and trying his hardest to make you smile and laugh. I can’t wait to witness your relationship, being just under 3 years apart. He is absolutely obsessed with Lightning McQueen right now- so just wait until you turn two and have all of his hand-me-downs! You will likely see that movie many, many times.
Right Now…
Your room is all done- blue and white. Your drawers are full of clean, folded clothes. The hospital bag is packed. I’m sitting here staring at your swing and bassinet- right next to the recliner I’ll be sleeping in post-surgery. We just got home from our last church service as a family of 5.
We’ve experienced having a newborn three times now. I’ve experienced pregnancy four times. I know how blessed I am. I know how it is going to feel when they hold you up over the curtain while I’m on the operating table. I know how it’s going to feel the first time they place you in my arms. I know how it’s going to feel to nurse you, to smell your sweet head (that I’m sure will be full of hair if you’re anything like your siblings). I know what a blessing it is to be pregnant and experience birth. I know how difficult it is going to be and how worth it it’s going to be. I plan to not take a second of it for granted.
Your 4d ultrasound is my phone background, and I just know the real thing is going to take my breath away. I can’t wait to see how God has used us and our love to create another incredible blessing. I’m so thankful He used me to do it.

Lord Jesus, may your blessings be upon him. May he be healthy and strong. May he love you all of his days.
See you soon, our sweet boy. We love you.
