Living in a Season of Answered Prayers

Thank you, Lord.

I’m not sure what season of life you are in right now.

If you are waiting on an answer from God, basking in his blessings, or if maybe you’re so busy you haven’t had the time to enjoy them. I’d encourage you to sit down and reminisce on the life you’ve lived so far- and how far you’ve come- How far God has brought you. How many prayers He has truly answered.

Here are just some of mine.

I know I’m living the good old days right now. I’m in a moment that I just want to bottle up and relive for the rest of my life.

Watching my husband, run around the backyard with excited young children while our youngest dances in my belly.

The excitement on their faces as their daddy plays with them. The bare feet in the grass.

I look around at the life that we built together and are continuing to build.

I realize I’m living in a season of answered prayers.

Almost everything I see is something I once prayed for, or something I needed the Lord’s help and guidance for- and He showed up.

Lord, please bless me with a good man.

Lord, help us make it through senior year. Prom date? yes please!

Lord, keep us strong through college.

Lord, we made it. Thank you. I can’t wait to marry this man.

Lord, which house do we buy?

The realtor isn’t sure it’s a good idea. We think it is. It’s incredible and such a blessing, thank you.

If it’s your will, God, please help us conceive.

I’m pregnant! Thank you so much Jesus.

It’s a girl. Will you please protect her?

Lord, please help me get through this delivery.

Lord, she’s here. Thank you so much. We’ve never felt a love like this. Is this how you feel when you look at me?

Lord, being a full-time working & breastfeeding mom is the most difficult thing I have ever done. I just want to be home with her. This all feels so wrong. Please help me.

Lord, she needs a sister, right? Please bless us with another baby.

Positive! This is her sister, I just know it.

A boy? Lord… This wasn’t my plan for us. I will try to trust yours.

I don’t know how to feel, Lord help me bond with him.

He’s here. Oh.. wow. I’m in love with him. How could I have ever doubted you, God? Thank you for knowing what I need when I don’t even know myself.

He has colic. Lord help us. It’s over. Thank you, Jesus.

Lord, thank you for this side hustle. All those days crying after dropping her at daycare, I can quit my job. I don’t deserve this. Thank you so much.

God, please help us find our forever home. Everything is so expensive. Is this the right move?

Lord, thank you for this home. I can’t believe we have this beautiful fenced-in yard for our kids to play.

We’re done having kids, right God? You said be fruitful and multiply… we did.. but did we multiply enough?

I mean… one girl and one boy? The perfect family… right? Then why do I feel like this?

Lord, thank you for this clarity. Thank you that we’re on the same page in our marriage. If it’s your will, please let me get pregnant again.

HA! Lord, another boy. I love your sense of humor!

Who is he? I know he belongs with us, but I haven’t been able to bond with him in my belly. We already have a son.

He’s here. Oh Lord, I never knew my heart could be this big. You’ve proven me wrong in my uncertainty so many times. I can’t thank you enough. Doubting you is the biggest waste of energy! Silly me.

Lord, our kids are getting older… I know we believe in you, but what about them?

Lord help us find a church.

Lord, we’re going to this new church this morning. Is this where we belong?

Lord, we’ve never been so sure of anything. This is our new home church.

Lord, we started attending church for our kids, but now I realize we all needed this you so badly. Thank you.

Lord, I thought our marriage was strong before… I can’t believe how much closer I feel to my husband now that we’re both growing closer to you. If this is what it means to be closer to you.. please don’t ever let us go.

Lord, my husband brought up baptism today. I can’t believe the work you’ve done in him and in me. We’re getting baptized together. Thank you. THANK YOU.

It’s time to register our daughter for Kindergarten. This doesn’t feel right. Lord please guide me.

…Homeschool? Can I do it? I’m going to take the plunge. Lord, thank you for this opportunity. Thank you for more time with them.

We’re coming up on 10 years of marriage; thank you so much, Lord. We celebrate at a Christian marriage conference and leave even closer to each other and you.

We’re well into our 30’s now. I’m in the best physical shape I’ve ever been in. Thank you!

Wait, where is this coming from? Lord, a fourth child? (No!) I’m finally fit. That’s not my plan. I can run 8 miles without stopping!

… Lord, are we supposed to have a fourth child? But the age gap. But the cars won’t fit us all. But we don’t have enough bedrooms. But a higher-risk C-section. But we’re finally sleeping! But…but…

Do I want another baby or do I just want another daughter? Help me. Please give me clarity.

Lord Jesus help us, Charlie Kirk was killed today. I’m devastated. This rocked our world- but you already know that. He did so much good for your kingdom. Why God?

Lord, I think I’m starting to see the why. Look how many people are turning to you. Thank you…

Lord, I saw a video of Charlie today. One of my favorites, of how important it is to have children and raise them to know you. How there is nothing more special- life is such a gift.

Lord, this feels like clarity. My husband agrees. I know all else will work out. If we can bring another life into this world, we will do it. If it’s in your will, may we please have one more?

I’m pregnant. I can’t believe I get to do this again. Thank you so much, Lord.

Lord, my daughter wants a sister. Two girls, two boys. It would be even. Wink wink.

Another boy. Okay. You’ve proven your plan to me before. I still don’t know how to feel about this. Please give me clarity as to why you think I’m equipped to be a boy mom x 3???

Through the nausea and confusion, I pray to you. You answer. Oh. Another soldier for your kingdom. We’re raising three future husbands. This is a high calling. Now I get it. Thank you. Lord, give us as many sons as you see fit

Now, here I am, Lord, living in a season of answered prayers, sitting in a rocking chair on our newly renovated deck by the incredible husband you’ve given me. Two weeks away from having our fourth child. Watching all of my prayers run around the backyard.

I feel bonded to this baby already. We can’t wait for him. I can’t wait to hold this answered prayer in my arms- to meet who it is that you said needed to be here. I feel so blessed that you chose me to carry him.

Lord, please bring me peace through this fourth C-section. Thank you in advance, because I already know you will.

I’m overwhelmed by your love and the gratitude I have that your plan has always been and always will be better than mine.

Lord, thank you.
